This CD, includes a number of tunes that I wrote based upon my life-long love affair with traditional and modern popular Cuban music. Here, I assembled some of Cuba's finest older and younger musicians into the "Cuban Masters Ensemble." I decided to title the CD "The Past Meets the Present" because of the personnel chosen, the musical tributes to Tata Güines and Celia Cruz, and because the cd contains a variety of new and old Cuban musical forms. This is my humble contribution to that great musical tradition. My only wish is that this cd will be enjoyed by young and old alike and that maybe, a new generation will become inspired to continue listening, and enjoying Cuban music.
